Therapeutic Modalities:

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy: This type of therapy is aimed at modifying distortions in thinking patterns that contribute to distressing emotions and non-adaptive behaviors. It is a structured, often time-limited, focused on the present, interactive, collaborative, skills and strength building. It uses many different techniques that are individualized to meet the needs of the client. One of the main advantages  in using this approach is that it has many years of strong evidence to support its efficacy.

Psychodynamic Therapy: This type of therapy is more geared at building insight by addressing conflicts that individuals may be having at both the conscious and unconscious level. It derives from Freud and others by focusing in depth on the past and present. The goal is to resolve more longstanding challenges by building self-awareness via working through and processing different areas in an individual’s life.

Integrative Therapy: Integrative Therapy takes the best of other approaches and integrates them for the benefit of the patient. We make use of both CBT and Psychodynamic therapy dependent on the presenting problems and preferences of the patient.
